Romanticism vs. Classicism


Romanticism:

 "A movement in the arts and literature which originated in the late 18th century, emphasizing inspiration, subjectivity, and the primacy of the individual."

 Classicism:

 "It is following ancient Greek or Roman principles and style in art and literature, generally associated with harmony, restraint, and adherence to recognized standards of form and craftsmanship, especially from the Renaissance to the 18th century."

The difference between both:

 A. Romanticism and B. Classicism....

 A. It is about feeling, instict and pleasure.
B. Its about formality and mannerism.

 A. Democratic themes
B. Elevated subject

 A. Ordinary language of people
B. Highly crafted poetical language

 A. Realistic characters, situations and strong narrative element
B. Composed in a formal style

 In short:
Romanticism vs. Classicism
1. Imagism vs. Intellect
2. Liberty vs. Restrain
3. Follow Inspiration vs. Follow Masters
4. Rustic Life vs. Urban Life
5. Objectivity vs. Subjectivity

Analysing Hindi Poem "Tum Laye Kapde or Sab Nange Ho Gaye.." The very title could be seen in PARADOX. "How can one be nacked after waering cloths?" Who is being addressed that is question. Modernist Poems Short But Dramatic

Part of our Study Task Modernist Poems of selected poets are analyzed here. Poets have written short poems but very dramatic. Means they are very much effective. Let's see one by one. 1. The Embankment   Once, in finesse of fiddles found I ecstasy, In a flash of gold heels on the hard pavement. Now see I That warmth’s the very stuff of poesy. This image is a direct satire on current education system. We have same education system for all type of students and we have expectation that all should come first or atleast in first five. How is it possible? All have different capacity and expertization in their own skills. Their capacity and skills should be judge accordingly. Same evaluation can not give right result.
